“Green” manufacturing was a relatively new idea when Springs Window Fashions began making efforts to be more earth-friendly and energy efficient more than a decade ago. Now we know that conserving our natural resources is essential—for our business and for the planet.

Social responsibility is a fundamental element of Springs Window Fashions' corporate culture. Part of that responsibility is working toward a “greener” future. Our ongoing goal is to minimize the company’s environmental impact by using recycled or renewable materials, reducing energy use, increasing water efficiency, and improving indoor air quality.

In Our Offices

  • We recycle all aluminum, plastic, paper, toner, and cardboard.
  • We use highly efficient light fixtures and Energy Star-rated office machines that are programmed to power down after the business day.
  • The vehicles used by our field sales associates are regularly inspected for fuel efficiency, and in-vehicle mapping software optimizes call routes to save gasoline.

In Manufacturing

  • Our Middleton facility has recycled 43 million pounds of industrial waste in the last 10 years.
  • We save 90 million gallons of water annually by using a closed-loop water cooling system for plastics manufacturing.
  • Our Middleton facility has lowered airborne emissions by 71% since 2000. Exhaust air scrubbers have also reduced volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by 52%.
  • Our packaging is 100% recyclable and contains at least 44 % of post-consumer recycled material.

In Our Products

  • Our window coverings regulate the sun’s rays to control temperature and create energy-efficient homes.
  • Nearly all of our window blinds, shades, and drapes are constructed with recycled plastics, metals, or fabrics.
  • We use GREENGUARD Certified materials with low chemical and particle emissions.
  • Our Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certified fabrics meet or exceed all VOC content limits.
